Terms of Use

These terms are between you and AkiziTech (“we”, “our”, “us”), the publisher of WordGrasp. By downloading or using the app you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use WordGrasp. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your download from the App Store; where it and these terms conflict, Apple’s terms govern the download itself.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use WordGrasp on Apple devices you own or control, for your own learning. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app or its word content, reverse-engineer it except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded, or use it to build a competing product.

WordGrasp is a vocabulary practice app. It shows you a word in a sentence, you explain what it means, and the app grades your explanation and shows you what you missed.

Grades and feedback are produced automatically, partly by AI language models, and they can be wrong. A grade is a learning aid, not an assessment, a qualification or a prediction of how you will do in any exam. Definitions, examples, origins and memory hooks are written with the help of AI and checked by us, but they may still contain mistakes. If something looks wrong, tell us and we will fix it.

Your answers are your own. Some of them are sent to our server for grading, as the Privacy Policyexplains, so please keep them about the word: don’t include personal or sensitive information about yourself or anyone else.

You agree that you will not:

• send automated or scripted requests to the grading service, or try to get around its rate limits;
• use WordGrasp to generate content unrelated to learning the words it shows you;
• scrape, copy or republish the app’s word content in bulk;
• interfere with the app, its servers or other people’s use of them.

WordGrasp needs a free trial, a plan or a lifetime unlock to start a session. The options, their prices in your local currency, and the length of any free trial are shown in the app before you confirm.

• Plans are auto-renewing subscriptions. Your Apple Account is charged when you confirm, or when a free trial ends, and again at the start of each renewal period. A plan renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period (or free trial) ends. Free trials are for eligible new subscribers, once per Apple Account.
• Lifetime is a one-time purchase that unlocks WordGrasp for as long as we offer the app. It never renews.

Manage or cancel a plan in your Apple Account settings, not in WordGrasp — deleting the app does not cancel it. Purchases can be restored on another device with the same Apple Account. Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies; we cannot issue refunds ourselves, though we are happy to help you ask.

Some features need an internet connection, including new words and grading answers the app can’t grade on your iPhone. We may add, change or remove features and word content, and we may stop offering the app. We work to keep grading available but cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Your progress lives on your iPhone and stays there regardless.

WordGrasp is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any grade, definition or explanation is accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AkiziTech is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost streaks, lost profits or lost opportunities, arising from your use of WordGrasp. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You may end this agreement at any time by deleting WordGrasp from your devices; remember to cancel any plan in your Apple Account settings too. We may end it if you materially breach these terms. Sections 7, 8 and 10 survive the end of the agreement.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you use WordGrasp as a consumer elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your own country.
